Hi.

To cancel my Spectrum cable service, should I call Spectrum first or just take the cable box  & remote to the local Spectrum office?

TC.

Hi,

I would go to the office.  Make sure that you get a receipt with any equipment returns.  You could call, but there would be a truck role charge for the tech to come out to take the equipment back.

Agreed that the office is the fastest and best method.

OR if you have a UPS store nearby that's even closer than your Spectrum store you can go there and they will mail the spectrum  equipment back to Spectrum at no cost.

Regardless of method used,

Insist on a receipt  for all returned equipment.

As it turned out no one asked anything. I got my new modem and Wave2 ASKEY router. However there seems to be an issue with this model of the WAVE2 router. No one can login to the router to setup the SSIDs and passwords. Tech support could not either. Got a second one because thats all the store has and it did the same thing. Beware of the ASKEY WAVE2 routers!

I will open a different discussion to describe the frustration that occurred when the tech came to the house to determine the problem! It wasn't pretty.

Can't log in to my spectrum (redirect loop)

This is my first and only account, opened about 13-16 days ago in Louisville ky. I can't log in on my browser or app, the browser will accept the user and password then go into a redirect loop placing me back at the login screen. The app shows a pop up stating "we're sorry, something did not work quite right, try again later." . I have tried cache clearing and different browsers.

Automatically upgraded credit card's date?

Weird/Odd. Got and activated a new CC with its same numbers and new expiration date, but spectrum.net's account shows its expiration date already updated. Huh? Uh, is that normal? Usually, they have to be done manually. :/

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. Smiley Happy

Most of mine are updated automatically if it's the same card number.

Thank you for confirming. This was the first time. All previous updates were done manually.

Here's a thought:  If you authorize Spectrum to transfer your bill to your credit card account each month, the bank who services that card will automatically update the card expiration date back to Spectrum, the debiting entity.  As you've already discovered, everything else on your card remains the same, including the "secret security" code.

I'll bet that your credit card banking agreement says in the fine print that the card servicer will do the same for all of your electronic payments until you, the card owner, either cancel the direct payment agreement or change the credit card account.
